UK television is no longer one evening schedule on one channel. It is BBC iPlayer and ITVX beside Netflix, Disney+, and half a dozen other apps — live soaps at fixed times, box sets whenever you like. UK TV Planning Tool pulls that mix into one simple place: browse what is available, save what you care about, and see how a week of viewing might look.
It is a planning tool for ordinary viewers, not a replacement for the streaming apps themselves. The catalogue is a curated sample set designed to show the flow clearly.
What the app does.
Open the planner and work through three tabs.
Browse shows free platforms (BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4) and subscription ones (Sky/NOW, Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV+, Paramount+, Discovery+). Filter by channel, switch between all / live only / on-demand only, or search by title and genre. Tap a show to add or remove it from your watchlist.
Schedule turns that watchlist into a week view. Live titles land on their sample broadcast day and time. On-demand titles are placed into suggested evening slots so you can see how much viewing you are aiming for without overcrowding one night.
Watchlist lists everything you saved, split into live and on-demand, and totals the week: how many shows, how they split, and roughly how long you would spend watching.
Your watchlist stays in the browser between visits, so you can refine the plan over a few sessions.
Core problem it solves.
When viewing is split across many apps, it is easy to lose track of what you meant to watch, when live shows air, and whether a week’s plan is realistic. Notes apps and mental lists do not separate fixed broadcast times from flexible on-demand titles, and they rarely add up total viewing time.
UK TV Planning Tool removes that friction. It gives one browse–save–schedule loop across free and paid UK platforms, so you can plan the week before you open five different apps to find out what is on.
Target users.
UK TV Planning Tool is for UK viewers who watch across free catch-up and subscription streaming platforms and want a simple weekly plan that covers both live and on-demand titles.
