Most people can open their blood results in the NHS App or Patient Access — and still feel unsure what the numbers mean together. NHS Blood Test Analyser turns those routine lab values into a plain-English briefing you can read before you speak to your GP. Calm, useful, empowering.
It is built for understanding and preparation, not diagnosis. Every screen reminds you that decisions about your health belong with a clinician.
What the app does.
You enter the results you already have from a GP blood test. Optional patient context — age, biological sex, and pregnancy — can be added at the top. Results are organised into familiar NHS-style panels such as Full Blood Count, renal profile, liver function, thyroid, haematinics, lipids, glucose and diabetes, bone profile, inflammatory markers, and other common tests.
Each field shows the label, unit, and reference range in language that matches Patient Access and the NHS App. Panels expand and collapse as you work, show a badge when values are entered, and can be cleared in one step.
When you click Analyse, the app returns a plain-English overall summary, per-result explanations with status tags, patterns noticed across panels, areas worth discussing, and numbered questions you can take into a GP appointment. The experience stays informational throughout and does not diagnose conditions or replace medical advice.
Core problem it solves.
Lab reports are precise, but they are not written for patients. Reference ranges alone do not explain which values matter together, what is worth raising with a GP, or how to ask a useful question in a short appointment.
Without a clear briefing, people either ignore the numbers, worry about the wrong ones, or fall back on generic web searches that are hard to trust. NHS Blood Test Analyser helps patients organise their results, understand them in everyday language, and walk into a GP conversation better prepared — while staying firmly on the informational side of care.
Target users.
NHS Blood Test Analyser is for UK patients reviewing routine GP blood results from the NHS App or Patient Access who want a plain-English briefing before a doctor appointment.
